Undocually Brookdale Community College

UndocuALLY-BCC is a committee of administrators, faculty, staff, and students dedicated to the success and support of DACA and undocumented students at Brookdale Community College. They sought out a new look for their branding and I entered the race along with a lot of other people to see if my logo would be picked to represent this amazing club. I made the final 5 and sadly didn’t get picked but I still love the design I came up with purely off there brief and here is my process.

First drafts

The first drafts were rough to say the least. In their brief they mentioned they wanted a monarch butterfly and to show some visual representation of migration. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go into and how to incorporate such a big organic shape with typography and different fonts, but it quickly came together.

Coming together

It slowly started to come together and I got down to four concepts that I felt were pretty strong and ready to present to the client.

Final Design

The client's final critique to me was just to add the world to show that they got people from all over the world and to add more than one butterfly trying to replicate the idea of migration.

This was the clients favorite but I found them all to be very strong.
